Remote Check

A practical way to check artwork, sizing and fit-off remotely on South African retail sites, written for teams already working with print, vinyl and signage.

How Remote Check works on a live retail week

Remote Check is for reviewing artwork, sizing and fit-off without waiting for a site visit. It suits retail teams who need vinyl and branding details checked against the intended shopfront layout.

Remote Check starts with what is visible on site now, not what the artwork file says. Send the shopfront photo, opening size, and where the vinyl must stop around mullions, light boxes, shutters or glazing bars. Durban salt air, Highveld dust, generator soot and tight mall trading hours all affect fit-off and material choice.

Include one straight-on image and one angled image from customer view. Those two shots help pick up skew fascia lines, door handles cutting through text, and reflections across window graphics. A quick marked-up image usually prevents wasted print on panels that looked square on screen but not on the storefront.

Remote Check output

The review records where each graphic sits, which size was checked, and what still needs measuring on site. Notes are written around fascia panels, windows, ACM plates, cut vinyl and printed vinyl rather than vague approval wording. That gives installers and buyers one clear reference against the branch layout.

Before sign-off, match the visual to the branch elevation and confirm trims, joins and bleed on every visible edge. If the scope includes a fascia, window run or logo plate, note each item separately so packing can follow the same order. Send the branch detail through the contact form with any marked artwork used for the check.

Retail conditions that affect fit-off

Remote checks for South African branches must account for painted blockwork, older aluminium shopfronts, uneven fascias and centre trading restrictions. A file can be correct and still fail once an existing frame, bulkhead or service hatch cuts through the message. Branches around Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban often differ enough that one standard layout needs checking before the run goes to print.

Coastal stores may need different vinyl handling from inland stores exposed to dry dust and heat. Loadshedding changes production timing, while courier routing can affect how packs are split for regional delivery. Night installs, tenant rules and security shutters should also be visible in the branch photos supplied for review.

What to send for review

Attach site photos, rough widths and heights, logo placement, and any current print-ready files or PDFs. If there is an older pack in use at the branch, include a photo of that as well so changes are easy to spot. Mark whether the check covers windows, fascia panels, directional decals or a full storefront set.

Keep the Remote Check record with the job card, print file and material schedule. That makes it easier to confirm what was reviewed for installation, what still needs a physical measure, and which branch details shaped the final output. Buyers and installers then work from the same notes when the pack is dispatched.
